Can't eat anything now due to nausea

Hi,

This is not an understatement. I have not eaten a real meal since June this year and have been surviving on ensure drinks since then, but I am even finding these I can no longer tolerate, I am getting desperate. I have lost between 10-20 Kg in weight in this time, and know if I don't eat soon I will possibly die.

My calorie up take from July to Sept was 500 per day! Since taking ensure it has upped to just under 2000 a day, but I do not know how long I can keep this up.

My nausea is almost like I am going to be sick rather than I feel sick, it almost comes into the back of my throat, and I can get a very bitter burning in my throat, acid?

I have no pain, my BM are normal once or twice a day.

I have been to my GP many times and a GI doctor, many tests have been done.

Blood tests, CBC, LFT, Hep tests, Thyroid test, blood sugar, H.Phyori, Celtics, bone screen, and many more, all normal.

Scans, Chest x-ray, MRI and CT Brain, US of liver, GB, spleen, Kidneys, all normal.

Gastoscopy, nothing seen, all normal.

I have been examined by at least 3 GI doctors, again nothing found.

The doctors have said as everything is normal then there is nothing they can do.

I need to know before it is all too late what other things I should try to get ruled out.

Any thoughts would be most welcome. I know there is at least one other person in the same boat as me on this forum and like me needs answers,

Thanks,

Ian

  • Hey IAN sorry to hear that your not feeling better, as neither am I, I have a colonoscopy scheduled for this monday, and I am so nervous about it, I dont think I could handle hearing the doctor tell me I have colon cancer I think I would have a complete mental break down. all I can think about is my wife and kids and how I so want to see them grow and how badly I want to grow old with my wife, it hurts me so bad to think I could be dying with colon or stomach cancer at the age of 26Hi,This is not an understatement. I had one a few years back and it was easier I thought than the upper gastro I just had, which by the way my GI doctor says is 100% normal. You sound just like me, the feeling of dread that the doctor is going to say CANCER! It is awful and there is no answer, the fear is our biggest enemy, I could not imagine not being around for my family and friends, and sometimes just don,t want to know if there is anything seriously wrong with me, I feel what is the point of know. I just want to prove I don't have it, if that makes sense.Life can be the pits, but what ever age you are everyone is faced with this at sometime in there life, and it never gets any easier.Good luck, what ever you will be fine,Ian
