Okay I've been having really big bowel movements lately and it hurts because it is too big but still comes out. When that happens I have bright red blood in my poop and when I wipe. How do I get rid of this problem?

Constipation and straining to move bowels can cause hemorrhoids, which is the likely source of the bleeding. For the constipation, consider increasing your intake of dietary fiber and if that isn't enough, try a stool softener like colace or a glycerine suppository. For the hemorrhoids, try Prep H or other over the counter suppositories. Consult a doctor if the condition gets worse or if it is still going on after a week or so.

  • Is there also mucus in the stool? How long has this been going on? I would get a full stool test done to rule out infection, bacteria, parasites and such. Best wishesDOM

  • See if you can get a potassium count done. Sometimes if its high it'll cause a bit of constipation.
