Belching...Reflux Disease???

For a year now I have dealt with frequent belching. Now, I am a 30 year old female so this is slightly unusual and a little embarrassing. I have repeatedly explained to my Dr as best that I could that I felt as if an air pocket was continuously lodged in my abdomen and that I that felt that burping would somehow ease my discomfort...however one only led to more. After trying everything over the counter from antacids to gas-x and then prescription Prevacid (with no relief) I finally went to a gastrointestinal specialist. Within days I was in for an endoscopy. I was sent home only with a follow-up appt for biopsy results (oh by the way he took 2 biopsies), a prescription for Prevacid, and a note stating that their findings were an ulcer and acid reflux disease. My problem is the fact that the only symptom that I have is burping...I have no indigestion, heartburn, pain....is it possible to have reflux disease and the ulcer without all of the other symptoms. Has anyone else had only the "gassy" symptoms and found something that works. I welcome your advice or feedback. Thanks.

  • 18 year old male, experiencing the exact same thing. No other pain, just an air pocket every 20mins (about). Pocket rises and can either belch to get rid of it, or tilt head back and it will sort of fizzle out. Very confused, started with random hiccups around 5 times a day, and now this.Sorry i cant help more though !

  • I have gerd or gastroesophageal reflux disorder, so i have alot of build up of acid which turns to gas (that comes out both ends). I find that either way, laynig flat on my stomach on a hard floor helps push out the gasses. Its worth a try

My husband is sick of those burps i do almost all night. it's pretty much all day but night its worse. i tried to sleep with a few pilllows that seem to help a bit. I also take ranitidine and rabeprazole and it seem to help a bit also but not all the time. I read somewhere that we cant have any of these. greasy food, caffeine, pepperoni, spici food, milk products, pepper... any way pretty much all good stuff i like.if someone has something better that works please let me know.it is very embarrassing, sometimes im in public and i cant help it ... i m so used to it ... im not even aware im doing it... its like breathing.
