I have been diagnosed with IBS following an abdonimal scan and blood tests.
Seeming as i have been given so many diagnosis for my problems and subsequent medications did not help, i am dubious to accept IBS as the true diagnosis.
For the last year and a half i have had an intolerance to lactose (i am physically sick after eating products) and have been able to manage this problem sufficiently.Yet over christmas my problems worsened.Twice i vomited blood and once had blood in my stool. Then i had acid reflux for the next few weeks.
I am often physically sick (approx 5 times in one night which is coupled with an eggy taste in my mouth) and have had stomach problems nearly all day every day for the last 3 months.These pains/nausea wake me from my sleep most nights now and occur across my lower abdomen and feel like a stabbing/burning pain.When i was given the ultrasound the touch of it gently rubbing across my stomach even hurt me a lot (this indicates how sensitive/tender my stomach is all the time). I also have occassional diahorrea.
This is a pain in itself but being ill with this has also made me immune to a lot of bugs/fevers of which i seem to have a new one every week that means i have to lie in bed for a few days to recover.I am also hypersensitive to a lot of things.I have always been allergic to a lot of things but in the last three months i have had a lot of rashes and reactions including a persistant one around my neck.I also had a period where anything i ate would make me suffer from nausea.
I am at university at the moment and this is therefore something i would really like help with.To give and example of my usual week the day before last i was up in the night for 3 hours wretching as i felt so sick and i also had bad diahorrea, and last night i awoke with excruciating stomach pains and diahorrea.This is a problem when i have to be at work early in the morning over my easter holidays!Currently my stomach feels like its being wrung and has been damaged (if its possible to feel that!)This would be fine if i had over indulged but in 3 months i havent drunk alcohol (apart from a glass of wine that hurt me a lot!), ive been told to avoid fatty foods-having fish and chicken as my meat, alongside veg fruit, bread and pulses as my main diet.Im learning to live with the constant stomach pains but recently they having been getting much worse and for the past 4 days i have been in agony.
Can anyone offer some advice as to what i could have?
