Hello My Name Is Tammy, My Daughter Is Skylar. She Has Been Fighting With Chronic Constipation Since Birth, She Will Be 4 In May. She Has Been To Several Different "gi" Doctors, Throughout Wv And We Even Made A Trip To Cincinnati Children's Hospital. She Is Currently Taking 2 Laxatives, And High Volume Enemas When Needed. The Doctors Have Done Several Different Test On Her, And I Can Not Get A Diagnosis Other Than Chronic Constipation. What Makes Me So Mad, Is When I Ask The Doctors, What Is Causing Her Constipation All They Tell Me Is That It Is Related To Her Autism Problem. Skyalr Has A Touch Of Autism, Called Pdd/nos, Pervasive Developemental Disorder/ Not Otherwise Specified. I Will Not Stop With That Answer, If She Had Mild Or Severe Autism, That Would Be The Ligimate Answer. I Get Answers From Other Doctors Like This Is Normal... Wait A Minute, It Is Normal For A Baby To Have To Take 2 Laxatives Just To Have A Bowel Movement, And Be Admitted To The Hospital About Ever 3 Weeks, And Have A Ng Tube, Due To Her Bowel Problems???? I Don't Think So. Well I Think We May Be On The Right Track. I Have Begged The Doctors To Do The Scopes On Her And They Finally Did. The Results!!! Well Skyalrs Colon On The Right Side Is Huge. The Doctor Explained It With A 20 Oz. Pop Bottle, She Said That Where The Lid Goes On, Is The Normal Size Of The Colon, Skylars Is As Big Where You Hold The Bottle. And There Is No Reason Why They Could Not Have Found It Out Earlier. So Now Their Plan Is To Make Skylar Have Dirreah For 4-6 Months To See If It Will Shrink Back Down, And I Have To Be Very Careful Not To Dehydrate Her. And If It Does Not Shrink Back Down They Are Going To Do Surgery To Take It Out. Well I Am Not Trying To Be Negative But I Am Looking For Her To Have To Have Surgery, Because I Think She Was Born With It. My Advise To Others, Keep Pushing You Know More About The Situtation Than The Doctor. If I Would Of Listened To The Doctors, Skylar Probably Would Be On Serveral Different Laxatives, Because As Long As The Laxative Was Making Her Bowels Move, That Is All They Were Worried About. Not Finding What Is Causing The Problem. Need To Talk, Or Have Advise For Me I Am Always Open. You Can Reach Me On Yahoo @ tlbishop82@yahoo.com.

  • himost people with autism are intolerent to gluten and dairy. cut these completely out of her diet, give her probiotics, aloe vera juice, slippery elm and prune juice to get her gut back into a healthy balance. these will also naturally help with the constipation as they are natural laxatives. get of the chemical laxatives which are not good for her. give her lots of fresh fruit and vegetables that are full of fibre, cut out junk food for a while as wel until her good stomach bacteria is increased with the probitics etc. also if you can get to a natropath then go, alternative treatment will be very effective for her........... all the best
