I have a 1 yearold sister who has been having eating problems since she was born. At 4 months, she was diagnosed with "failure to thrive" and has been on a NG feeding tube ever since.
She is now 1, and still breast feeding because she wont take a bottle or a sippie cup (its the only soothing device she has). She will not eat any food - and will gag and choke if she does try a sippie or food.
If she crys at all after a feed through the tube - she will gag and throwup her whole feed. She is very small and has slow weight gain. It seems so weird that a baby wont want to eat - even a yummy treat like a taste of chocolate on a finger, she spits etc. and has a fit.
The doctors just keep saying, oh we will watch and see how shes doing - so if we could find suggestions on finding an answer..
would be greatly appreciated.
I also posted this in the diagnosis section - hoping to really get help to solve this problem.
