Sorry to inform all you "newcomers" to gallbladder removal, that the severe pain reaction to codeine will last indefinitly. Had my gallbladder removed 35 years ago and Still have unbarable pain reaction anytime I take painkiller. In addtion, have tried codiene substitution and, in many instances, still get same pain. It personally think, it comes from any narcotic. Still trying to find something that will take away pain, but not cause another "Gallbladder attack". Any suggestions???
