I am scheduled to have gallbladder surgery Wednesday. I had my second attack last Saturday night. The first one was back in April. Here is my dilemma ....I am scheduled to go on vacation to Florida a week after the surgery. The surgeon says do not cancel the trip because I should be able to go if surgery is routine as he expects. Gallbladder is not infalmed, bloodwork is normal, just a lot of sludge and stones ib gallbladder. My question.....Is surgeon being too optimistic or should I go ahead and cancel my vacation?

  • It depends on how strong your immune system. I knew of a lady in our church that had stones in hers that was removed a week ago and she's walking around ok. I had mine out by laser 4 years ago and it was three weeks before I even felt good. I am slow to recover even with colds.Like my mom broke her arm this summer and was better a week after surgery. If that had been me it would of been a different story. just depends how you heal quickly. I was in so much pain after my gallbladder surgery, but I don't want to scare you here. I can't tollerate pain that much. I think it's cuz I'm getting older-I don't know. I whine over a finger cut.
