I have a tissue scar right below the surface of the right side of my foot. It is where my tendon got pulled/hurt seven months ago. I can walk, but sometimes if the walking is far or if I have to run a few steps on hard ground, inflamation can occur.
I like using a jacuzzi (it has hot water of course). I asked the doctor in the foreign country where I live if it is okay to use the jacuzzi when it is inflamed. He said, no, because it is 'dangerous'. But when it isn't inflamed it is okay.
It's difficult getting a clear answer. I asked a translator to talk to him, to ask him why it is 'dangerous' and something came out about bacteria infection happening more easily when the scar area is inflamed and in hot water.
Is that true? I've never heard of anything like that. Is this a danger any of you have heard about? And is such a thing life threatening if it happened?
