Pain right below toes

I don't know if anyone knows what this is, but about two weeks ago I started to get pain below the two small toes especially the one by my big toe. It is an ache but not excrutiating. I can press on my toes and move them. It is really very sore under the small toe by my big one. I walk all day at my job and drive for hours a day. I limp around quite a bit now and now the side of my foot is hurting and has a big bump on it. Driving can really hurt. It is always a dull ache until sometimes when I stand on tip toes it can really hurt. It is hurting badly now and is a dull nonstop ache . I take ibuprofin and it feels better. Even the top of my foot by my ankle hurts now. I don't want to spend the time going to the emergency room as they could find nothing wrong. It is hurting though and I am getting more worried about it.
Any ideas. I have never hurt my foot like this before.

  • check with an orthopedic surgeon about neuroma and take my word, the cortisone shots are painful and left my toes with partial numbness and sensitivity to touch. If neuroma, ask about options...
