I've got an odd problem, my big toe is slightly numb and wehen I touch it I get a sort of "pins and needles" tingling sensation, I'm worried about seeing the doctor because it doesn't hurt and I'm not in pain I feel I'll just be wasting their time.

I've had this now for about 9 months and it's starting to worry me.. What should I do, or what is the problem?

Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Sounds like a pinched nerve. Go see a podiatrist. By the way, you aren't wasting their time, they make a lot of money seeing you! :p

  • Jaced,Let's keep a positive outlook and hope it's a pinch nerve. Sorry to hear about your mom. I don't believe MS is hereditary, but you do have some risk factors.Let me know what the doctor says. Maybe orthotics is all you will need. :) Beth

  • I had numbness in toes and top of foot for 4 months and today just had surgery. With my foot, there was a sore lump on the top of the foot. My doctor thought it was a ganglion cyst. so during the surgery, I was given local sedation and was aware of what they said but did not care and felt no pain. The doctor said it was not a ganglion and appeared to be an Angiolypoma. she called today to check on me and I asked her what this word meant. It was a fatty tumor that is usually benign. They sent it out to be biopsied as usual procedure. I am recovering nicely, but thankful that I have two insurance coverages. I wish you good luck in finding out what it is.
