Same thing! I'm 28 and about 6 months ago i woke to a swollen foot. Went to the hospital, had an x-ray and basically got laughed at by the doctor. He seemed to think i was just there to get strong pain killers. Now 6 months on it's started again.
Left foot very swollen to the point that i can't walk on it.
toes swollen as well. panadol extra helps take the edge off so i can sleep but that's all i've got.
It's not gout, it's never been broken and i'm not over weight.
The first time i hired some crutches for a week and it just went away. with no answer from anyone all i can do is put my foot up and wait it out.

And yes, grown men can blubber like little two year olds... That's how much it hurts
