About 6 months ago I got 2 little dots on my foot. It itched like crazy. It itched so bad I had to use my back scratcher to scratch it (and still do). Before I knew it, these 2 little dots spread to about 1/4 of my foot. Now it's dry and cracked. At one point I scratched it so much, clear pus came out of it. It also would bleed and an area on my foot is cut from scratching. It itches and when I scratch it, it hurt.

I've been to my doctor twice who gave me two different types of creams (Mometasone Furoate and Betamethasone DP Augm). Neither worked. Now she's sending me to a dermatologist but because we live in a small town, there isn't any specialist in this area. A dermatologist comes this way (from the city a few hours away) a few times a month and they are booked for months.

Maybe if the itching wasn't there, it might heal.

Any suggestions on what I can use before I see the dermatologist? Did I damage my skin from itching it and making it bleed? What do you think he/she can do that my doctor didn't?

I never had eczema before. What causes it?
