Just wanted to let others know that I had debilitating hip pain about a year ago for months that was first thought to be bursitis. I took NSAIDs for the hip pain and two rounds of steriod injections, but my pain persisted. The pain was so bad, I could hardly walk and was on bed rest for months. Finally, once I started an antidepressant, Zoloft, the pain dissipated. Now I am pain free and living normally. We believe the mysterious hip pain that started without any big apparent cause was the result of fibromyalgia, which was effectively treated via Zoloft.
