I was on the depo shot for about a year. I have been off for about 3 months now and am trying to get pregnant. If anyone has been on this shot can you tell me how long it takes after you get off of it to conceive? I have gotten a sort of period back but not really i dont know if that means anything
thank you!

  • Everyone's body is different. I know many people that were on depo, some it took months, to a year. I was on depo for seven years and it took me a couple of months to get pregnant. So don't worry for now give it time.

  • I was on depo from 2001 until 2007 and have been off of it for about a year. My periods are finally regular and back to the original flow that I had years ago. I have not been on any contraceptive since depo last year, I have an active sex life with my husband, and I'm still not pregnant. The doctors say it can take a lot of time or a little time. Much of it has to do with your body type and getting your body back in synch with nature. Also make sure if you are trying to get pregnant to look into an ovulation reader (it can be bought over the counter and looks like a pregnancy test), I have not used one because we are not trying too or not too get pregnant but it's another option to use that specific time frame each month to it’s best advantage. Best of Luck!
