Hi, I am new to this forum.
I am 42 going to be 43 this July. I had a late marriage at 37 and had been using BC for 4years as my husband was not keen for a baby. I am quite keen to have a baby of my own and stopped taking BC in July 2007.
I have been TTC since march 08 but with no luck.
I got HSG test done and my tubes are clear, I am ovulating as twice I got follicular monitoring tone. This year I started getting midcycle bleeding and got the ultrasound of the uterus done and my uterus was normal.
My husband is not willing to get his semen analysis done and even if I assume he has low sperm count, what is the best advise one can give. Should I go for IUI or IVF? At my age, IUI is not so successful and IVF is costly. I have been contempelating what to do , should I keep trying naturally or go for IVF.
I do not want to go for doner eggs or adopt.I am blunt enough to say that I want my own genetic baby and am quite desperate now.

....Can anyone help me and give me some good advise!?

Thanks a ton in advance

Thanks a ton in advance Being in such a desperate state of mind, you are under a ton of stress, and stress is the #1 cause of infertility. If your husband is not on track with having a baby, then I see that as a major obstacle both mentally and physically...but if he is on board with you, then I suggest the following: Hopefully you are taking the best quality prenatal supplements you can afford. This is extremely important - I prefer food based prenatals like those by New Chapter or other similar supplement. Get your husband to take 1000mg of vitamin C, which helps with sperm motility. I recommend EmergenC because it is readily available and comes in lots of flavors. I highly highly recommend getting acupuncture treatments for infertility problems. Acupuncture is brilliant for this, but you would need to find a practitioner who specializes in women's health and infertility. Where do you live? You can find a practitioner on www.acufinder.com. Acupuncture will help with the stress, which is again the #1 cause of infertility. Chinese herbs may be helpful in balancing your periods as well. You are older, which makes your chances much harder unfortunately...but not impossible. If you choose IVF please also know your chances are higher if you include acupuncture with the IVF treatment. I am an acupuncturist, and have only treated two women for infertility...but both got pregnant within six months:)! Best wishesDOM
