i've never done this before, but here it goes: i started going through fertility testing in may 2006 to try to find out why i can't get pregnant, i did the blood test, my husband's semen was tested & doc said "a little low, but not low enough to be concerned", was put on clomid for six months & jus finished my seventh month of clomid along with my first iui, the iui didn't work, i started my period, i am getting frustrated because i still have no answer as to why i can't get pregnant & havn't been able to get pregnant, i don't even know if i should be seeing a fertility specialist or my regular obgyn for this, i like my obgyn but he has yet to tell me what he thinks may be the problem, does anyone out there have any advice on what i should do? & does anyone know what the chances are of conceiving with an iui?, any advice or help is appreciated

  • Do either of you smoke pot? I'm not being rude but that can cause fertility.

  • The percentage goes up considerably with an iui, b/c they send the semen straight into the uterus. the clomid though....I took it for two months and decided to never take it again. it dried me up and also messed me up so bad, i've never been the same.

  • I agree with last poster on clomid - it actually makes your cervix less viable to hold onto a pregnancy if one should occur. Causes weight gain and other complications...How long have you been trying to conceive? The first thing I suggest is to have you and your husband take EmergenC daily to help with his sperm motility and count. High vit C can help this. Also, boxers not briefs. Please consider acupuncture for helping your fertility. It works wonderfully, and although I have only treated two patients for this, they both got pregnant so that's a good ratio:) . Acupuncture is great for stress, and if you are trying to conceive you are under an enormous amount of stress, that's the truth. Western infertility treatments are invasive and do not focus on making a hospitable environment for conception, often causing soo much more stress to everyone involved. Best wishesDOM

  • Please do not listen to anything Shula or Acuann tell you. My sister just passed away because Shula and Acuann told her that her doctor was wrong and she did not have a serious condition. Acuann even told her to get acupuncture to get healed. These people are going to be investigated for practicing medicine without a license. Shula and Acuann are specifically wanted in connection with my sisters homocide. Thats right homocide. If she would have listened to her doctor instead of these internet quacks she would still be here today. Rest assured I will do everything in my power to put these two behind bars and shut this website down for good.

  • Holistic health can help with some symptoms, but it's the person's decision to follow that advice or not. I believe that holistic health can help where traditional medicine has failed. But sometimes it's important to have two decisions. I myself have fibroids, three of them. Because i had been on birth control for 9 years i thought i had totally ruined my reproductive system especially when weight gain had started and harder to get off, and then when i found out about my tumors. I thought it was going to take forever to get pregnant. When i found out about my tumors I was 32. Still young for that type of diagnosis, but then found out too much estrogen can cause this. My GYN had said hormones had nothing to do with them, well i believe they do. But I am now pregnant! I did do alot of holistic things prior to getting pregnant to try and shrink my fibroids in case i was going to have fertility issues, because of my estrogen imbalance. Sometimes a hormone imbalance can cause alot of female issues from abornal pap tests, fibroids and even infertility. I have an interesting website for you to read, I have read it and there's other info out there regarding women's hormones and how our environment can cause female hormonal problems. . http://www.alive.com/1059a3a2.php?subject_bread_cramb=167For more info on xenoestrogens and where they hide - http://www.fibroid101.com/xeno.htm

  • No offense to the previous posters, but you are a very typical case of infertility. I would highly recomend that you see an RE (reproductive endocrenologist). I have struggled with infertility for nearly 5 1/2 yrs. There are sooooo many reasons for infertility. It takes many many years to get preg. for some women. I would highly highly recomend a web site that I use daily it is fertilityfriend.com It is a wonderful place to meet other women who struggle with infertility. It is a great place to receive encouragement and to learn as much as you can about infertility. You are your greatest advocate, you need to be as weel informed as you can be. I have also been on clomid for 6 months... it is NOT as previously insinuated "evil" it can be ******n you, but infertility is not an easy journey. There are sooooo many options out there for women who struggle in this area. My greatest advice to you is to pray. After 5 1/2 years on this journey I have found great peace and joy in ****s. I will pray for you. God bless and please check out the web site. :)

A certified acupuncturist who specializes in this can help differentiate the causes, and come up with an individualized treatment plan. That is why it is so successful - there is no one way to treat it, and everyone is different. I am suggesting it may be a very helpful option IN ADDITION to western treatments including ivf and iui. If you are interested you can visit www.acufinder.com and do a search for articles on acupuncture and infertility. Best wishesDOM
