I'm a 31-year old married woman, TTC our first child for a couple of months now. Anyhow, my period has been doing some weird things the last few months. For the past 10 years, my periods have been pretty consistent: 27-28 days apart and 4-5 days long. Two months ago, it arrived right on time, but it lasted the better part of 8 days and was VERY heavy with large blood clots (not normal for me) on days 2-5. Same exact thing last month. Then this month, my period came 4 days early (on Jan. 2). It started in the late afternoon, and was very light (which is normal for me on day 1), then the next day very heavy again. And since then--practically nothing. So I basically only had 1 1/2 days of a "real" period", just mild discharge on the 4th and 5th and nothing of significance today. I know that stopping BC can cause weird hormonal changes, but I've never been on the pill (I've used alternative forms of BC), so it's not that.
Is this really strange, or am I just over reacting? I am scheduled to see my OB/Gyn later this month, but I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this. Thanks!
