Strange odors

Throughout the summer, I kept getting this very strong, very bad odor that came from my vaginal area when I would get really hot, and especially if I was sweating a lot. If my body temperature was normal, it did not occur.

Also, in between my last and current period, for a few days, I had a dark brown discharge that was almost sweet smelling, and I have been experiencing it again at the end of my current period.

Any ideas of what this could be and how to get rid of it?

  • Hello, I find that if my regular discharge becomes dark in colour this means there is a small ammount of blood in it. Like at the end of a period when you have a small trickle of blood left.Since putting on weight my vaginal area now gets quite sweaty in the summer & has a couple of times smelt like a smelly arm pit! :oI am obsessive abut washing aswell so have no idea why this happens to me.I would recommend you take a trip to the doctors & have a test done, just for your peace of mind & if it comes back negative then you can explore other avenues. I have a feeling you are 'spotting' between periods maybe.

  • You may have bacterial vaginosis Most conventional treatments such as Antibiotics and Anti-fungals upset the natural balance of bacteria in your vagina. In your vagina live both good and bad bacteria. Antibiotic literally translated means "against life" - it kills bacteria indiscriminately and you need many types of bacteria to have normal healthy balance.
