Skin trauma -> ulers?

I recently had a little skin trauma very near my vaginal opening. The next day, I had 2 small bumps which occasionally itched a little and were slightly painful when touched. These 2 bumps eventually turned into white ulcer looking things that bled a little.

I was wondering if skin trauma can cause this to happen...Can the moisture of the area cause the bumps to become infected and ulcerate? Or is this just somehow a coincidental herpes outbreak timed to occur exactly after the skin trauma? The timing, lack of recent sexual activity, and the fact that I have the cold sore virus already make me feel that it may not be HSV...but the ulcers threw me off. Any insight would be appreciated...this is rather confusing for me :(

Thank you

  • sounded like it could be herpes to me; did it heal completely? The bleeding and trauma could just be that--a trauma--sorry about your trauma. If it does come up again, be sure to see the doctor. I think if it was warts, it wouldn't go away--syphilis and Chancroid, on the other hand, comes to mind and you should probably go to your free STD clinic and get a blood test for at least syphilis.http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://dermatology.cdlib.org/112/case_reports/bite/1.jpg&imgrefurl=http://dermatology.cdlib.org/112/case_reports/bite/rosen.html&usg=__cCj1I7GNexYo_qy3yntq8Q8PFsM=&h=1500&w=2300&sz=1588&hl=en&start=175&tbnid=ff0xQBzAkULAPM:&tbnh=98&tbnw=150&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dchancroid%26gbv%3D2%26ndsp%3D20%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN%26start%3D160 "Thus, a true genital ulcer resulting from a human bite should be subjected to a darkfield examination (when feasible), a viral culture for HSV, and a chancroid culture (in rare endemic areas). Culture for other pathogens (e.g., Mycobacteria, Actinomycosis) and baseline and periodic followup serologic tests for syphilis, HIV, and hepatitis, may be obtained as appropriate. "
