I went to the gyn about 2 wks ago she did a culture and pap test and diagnosed me for trichimoniasis. She gave me the antibiotic which lasted for about a week in a half. Most of the symptoms have gone away like the odor and discharge. I still have a little inflammation and some raised bumps around my vagina. They are kind of irritating and i would like for them to go away. Should i reschedule an appt. for more meds or should i be worried about something else being there...Help please!!!
Also i read that my jeans and sheets could also spread and carry trich. Should i just throw out ma sheets and buy new jeans n underwear to prevent reoccurence.....

  • I found the last part of your thread interesting as I never considred that these things may be still in my underwear or clothing.Sometimes it can take an extra week for all the symptoms of vaginal things to go completely I find. But maybe a full std check to put your mind at ease?I had a terrible time with my partner when I first developed BV & he would only let up once I had had a fuill std test.

  • Well, it's not like scabies and you don't need to wash everything. It should have cleared up. Consider the bumps...are they going away? Do you have any lower back pain? Are they blistering? The bumps may indicate a need for further investigation. If there is a blister, ask your doctor to analyze it before it fades away. If it is gone before you get back in, you may need a herpes 2 specific IgM/IgG...the IgM indicates recent exposure. It could be nothing but I would want to know. Your boyfriend would need to take the meds for trich too, or you will pass it back and forth.
