Painful Sex

I have been married 30 years and have had 5 c-sections. As far as I know I have not gone through menopause - no symptoms although my periods have been very irregular for many years - sometimes having only 3-4/year or even none..even while still having children. I went to a health clinic and asked the nurse there as when we have sex it is extremely painful not just starting but all the time..it feels like the penis is hitting something in there and it is not enjoyable. It is not a problem w dryness but we have used ky jelly to see if it helped but it didn't. My question is as to what this is or if it is 'normal' as one ages also, I had had weight gain, lack of periods, hair thinning, etc. and wondered if it was a poly..something ovary and if so does that end as you get older or is it something that can be cured even now? I have heard these middle years should be better but they seem complicated!

  • You should go make sure you don't have a cyst. I was just diagnosed with one, I had no symptoms, but pain during sex is a symptom. Also, sometimes when my boyfriend goes in deep it feels like he's hitting something and it REALLY hurts. I am wondering if the cyst causes that.
