Please help me... this is driving me nuts! I dont think i produce enough discharge. Unless i'm actually 'doing something' to help i'm pretty much as dry as a bone. I know that the vagina is supposed to be self cleaning organ but if i'm not producing it on a daily basis then i dont see how it's cleaning itself. as a result of this when it does finally come out it's usually quite thick and smelly. Been to the doctor's several times- they initially told me it was BV and gave me antibiotics but they didnt help. Been back several times since but now they cant find anything and keep telling me it'll clear up and it's normal. I'm also gay so i know exactly what other people's is like and mine definately isnt right - my previous girlfriend also agreed and we ended up splitting up because of it! im 25 now and had this problem since i was about 17. i used to produce normal amounts when i was a teen so know for sure that something changed and somehting isnt right! anyone got any ideas? i've tried douching/not douching, shaving/not shaving, using ph neautral soap/using only water, washing loads/not washing at all!! please help it's driving me nuts and ruining any chance of a relationship of any kind!

  • I've never heard of there not being enough discharge... I have too much! Are you dehydrated? Do you drink a lot of fluids? Do you have normal menstrual cycles? I would try not to douche because it kinda messes up your bodies natural stuff, but you said you're not actually getting any cleaning done. Do you general experience odor? or is it only when you do finally have mucus? I well... have said it too many times probably lol... would consider having your hormones checked. It certainly wouldn't hurt to see if there is something there that may be causing it. Sometimes like postmenopausal women (not suggesting you are similiar hormonally just using it as a comparsion) they do not always have a lot of vaginal lube even with intercourse. Whatever the cause, I hope you find a GF that can look past whatever GYN issues you're having. :)

  • Have you tried using lube during sex? It could mask the problem!
