My girlfriend (18yo), is currently having vaginal problems. About a year ago, she developed a Ovarian Abscess and took an antibiotic for several months to cure it, and she believed it was diminished this past december. Since then, she has had vaginal discomfort before and after sex. Her doctors told her that she would continue to feel random pain due to scar tissue from the pre-existing abscess (true?). She claims that I am much larger than any of her other partners, and that the pain after sex is caused by this, but this recent pain signifies more than that to me. Just recently, she has developed intense vaginal pain in the upper parts in her abdomin; and I have done quite a bit of research with a conclusion of an infecton. I'm convinced that what she is experiencing now is a BV or a yeast infection (same thing?). Her urine has a white tone, and she sometimes has a thick whitish discharge that I have noticed, but there isn't much of an unpleasant smell. She has complained about a burning sensation on the outside of her vagina, but nothing more. She has also been running a slight fever lately, is this relavent? I've tried my best to educate myself on this, but I would like to learn more.

Any suggestions to what any of this could mean? Any idea of what OTC treatment would be most effective? It kills me to see her is such pain, and I would greatly appreciate any input that could help me help her. Thank you.

  • Yes, why don't the two of you show up at your local county STD clinic and get tested for everything they have? If she doesn't have an infection, then she may need to have an ultra sound of her vagina and a pap. She needs a pap, too, to rule out HPV. She could be allergic to condoms, if you use them...and yes, a man can definitely be too large....take your time with this one and do a lot of oral sex (after cleared of stds), foreplay...time time time and very very gentle and slow...
