i was recently diagnose with gential herpes.... my doctor to me was very unprofessional because my calls were never returned and they didnt even call and let me know when my results had came in... the woman said that everything was normal...i had to ask her about my herpes test and she acted like she didnt know wat i was taking bout all she said was you had abnormal lesion and when i kept mentioning the herpes test she said you have type 1... then she said your culture was normal....so now im confused...it took me a while to get the guts to look it up but i did and it said type 1 comes from oral sex and i have never preformed oral sex and it has never been done on me... it also said that this would happen inside my mouth when ever i had a breakout but i have always gotten canker sores since i was like six, and i have gotten them treated by my dentist so i really dont understand...because before i started having sex i would get cuts or bumps down there after i shaved or before my period so i really dont understand...so i dont understand they didnt offer me a blood test or anything..can someone give me some advice or shed some light on my situation ...
thank you

  • Write the doctor a private letter telling him how you were treated. He may not even know about how you were treated.Okay, calm down. You may not have genital herpes. You need to go back and ask specifically for the herpes 2 blood test. Yes, you sound like you have had herpes 1 since you were a child and if they give the combo test, it will come back positive...so, inconclusive is my advise. You need the additional herpes 2 test, but just because his receptionist or assistant is so rude, I would begin with a different doctor and BE SPECIFIC, insist on the herpes 2 test. I bet you don't have it. If you have sores down below your waist, you could, so I don't know what is going on but all because you have herpes 1 does not mean you have genital herpes. However, you can get mouth/oral herpes vaginally if a guy gave you oral sex and had an outbreak. If the culture was normal, then it wasn't herpes. She's an **s. Too much stress and pain. Go and get a copy of all of the blood work and culture so it's not repeated. If she gives you any trouble, insist that it's your legal right to obtain your personal tests and you will sue her personally for a violation of your medical rights..get tough girl...

  • thank you very much that really made me feel better...my dentist says that those are canker sores i been having since i was six.. canker sores are not contagious and u can easily get them by biting yourself if your teeth are misaligned..and at the time mine were... i kind of figured it wasnt herpes in my mouth because i went to the dentist and they burned the open sore in my mouth..it a procedure where they createa chemical burn with a stick that looks like a match then they but water on the sore once they burn it you feel a little sting then its over and the sore close by night time or the next day its gone... so thats how i kind of figured it could not be that but im definitely going tomorrow with my sister to see her doctor to see if i can get some answers ..thanks again..

  • If you've been biting the inside of your cheek, or if the sore is inside your cheek, I might be able to consider that a cankor sore, but if your lips have tingled and they blister and burn and crack, then that is herpes. http://www.medicinenet.com/herpes_simplex_infections_non-genital/article.htmWhat are canker sores?Canker sores, or aphthous ulcers, are ulcerations that occur inside the mouth along the mucosa. They are found on the inner cheeks and lower lip as well as on the tongue, palate, and the covering of the gums. Canker sores are small, round, and painful. They are gray in color with a distinct edge. They are not contagious and are caused by stress or trauma to the area.
