Temporary loss of vision in one eye

I wonder if someone can shed some light on a problem I had recently. Here's the background first. My father recently passed away, and I had to wait several days before I could go to the funeral (which was abroad). During those several days I hardly slept because I was very upset. On the day I was to fly I was extremely exhausted and my left eye was very tired. I remember looking at the lightbulb on my lamp (it was turned on) and suddenly seeing a flash of light that lingered for a long time. Then my left eye temporarily list vision.

My question is: is my temporary loss of vision because of my stressful situation?

  • Sorry to hear of your loss. I have had loss of vision on two occassions in my lifetime and it was diagnosed by opthamologist as Optic Nueritis. You really should be seen right away I would even go to E.R. I was blessed that I did eventually get my vision back on the second episode I had to be hospitalized and was given steroid I.V. for 3days. Please get checked out right away. I will include you in my prayers. T
