About 5 weeks ago I noticed in my left eye a few large looking red veins had appeared. I decided to buy some eye whitener drops until this went away and starting using them every few hours, they worked pretty well. My eye doesnt seem to be getting any better though and the same veins are still there. Both of my eyes have started to feel very sensitive when in the light and at work this is becoming embarrasing as I am sitting at my desk looking as though I am in floods of tears all the time (there are bright lights in my office). Both eyes seem to have a yellow tint to them and look very red and glassy most of the time. They dont itch but it is painful to look into light. I also sit in a well air-conditioned office and sometimes my eyes do feel like they are dry and maybe overcompensating by releasing water in the form of tears..

This is very embarrasing and any suggestions of what I can do would be helpful!!

  • Hi, if allergies are cause of your tears then an oral antihistamine should stop the tear flow. Its important to keep in mind that this is a secretion drying medicine and could dry out your eyes. If you wear contacts, I would suggest to switch over to glasses, specially in dusty areas. Wash your eyes constantly. If this does not cure the case of tears then it might be a bit serious case: Infected, swollen tissues etc. family therapist newport beach
