For a couple weeks, I've been having problems with my sinuses and allergies. Friday I woke up with swelling eyes, went to the doctor who said "oh boy, yes it is from allergies". With the way she was acting I guess it was pretty bad. Anyway, she told me to take zyrtec. The swelling went down some but it looks like it's still swelling and my vision is messed up. Can swelling eyes and allergies cause disturbed vision?

Thank You,

  • My eyelids are very dry, swollen, red, itchy and I wake up with matter in the corners of my eyes. In doing research, I found something called blepharitis which has all of the symptoms I listed but mentions greasy eyelids and mine are dry. This condition has come and gone several times in the last couple of years. Since I've had acne on my face for many years I thought maybe it was due to some of the meds. and topical lotions, creams. etc. I've used. Also thought it might be due to mascara that I hadn't changed out after a few months. I haven't seen an eye doctor yet b/c I really thought a dermatologist could help me w/the problem. There was a post here from someone about watching lots of TV and using the computer a lot. That person may have apoint. If so, thank you very much. I'm going to treat myself as if I had the condition I mentioned above: put warm compresses on my eyelids, clean eyelids w/baby shampoo mixed w/water, and a topical cream. I'll let you know what happens! browniis
