For a couple days I've had pretty bad swelling under my eye and underneath my eyelid (on the inside) I see a white dot. I'm not sure if this is just a stye that has made it underneath my eyelid or something else. I doubt it's pink eye but maybe someone could let me know if it is stye or something else...

  • I have it too. I don't know what to do about it. My lower eyelid is swelling and that area inside it is red and there's a white dot. I thought yesterday it would get better by the end of the day but it only got worse when I woke up this morning. I hope someone can give us advice.

  • there is only one thing i do that helps me. i know it sounds a little crazy, but use garlic. cut the garlic in half, and rub in on the area of the white dot. i've done this twice and it was gone the next day, or the maximum two days. i usually use the garlic the moment i see it, and i do it for the whole day. it may sting a little, which is natural since the liquid.. or whatever it is inside, will go back. i think this is the best solution.

They are usually self limiting, avoid wearing contacts as can spread infection to your eye.

  • My eye was hurting a lot, so I went to the washroom and checked my eye. There was a white dot on the end of my eyelid and it seemed like it was swelling a lot. I searched it up on the internet and I found out that it is a bacteria that is called Staphylococcus. It is caused by rubbing your eyes with dirty hands. The bacteria sort of lives in your eyelid... and it just swells up and turns red. In the inside of the white dot it is filled with pus. You should try going to a doctor or popping it asap. Or you can go to this website for more info :] http://www.buzzle.com/articles/white-bump-on-eyelid.html

  • I have been having the same issue for years. Mine is actually reoccurring and is a negative s reaction my body has to my contacts. I get the symptoms about twice a year normally during times of heightened stress. It's most likely the common Stye. Though there are no cures there are ointments that you purchase either by seeing a physician or just by talking to your pharmacist. Both creams work about the same (So if you want to save a dollar, just go over the counter, it's doubtful you'll be able to tell a difference between the creams). The best thing is a warm compress and the cream. There are also a number of different remedies, such as milk, garlic, fish oil, L-lysine, or gold (never had enough pure gold laying around to test this one). Honestly I've tried a ton of different thing and in the end I always have the same results 4-7 days of discomfort and swelling followed by 2-3 days of healing (stop warm compress, try not to break scab if there is one, starts the healing process over). Then I'm back to normal. Hope this helps!!!! :)
