A few months ago I noticed one small floater in my left eye. I was a bit worried but it only bothered me a little bit and after time it just went away by itself. Recently thought about three weeks ago I noticed an increased number of floaters and have increased in number since then. My eyes also seem red at times as if they were bleeding within and an hour later the redness goes away. My vision also seems somewhat unclear and my eyes seem a little bit sore. I also am nearsighted as well since I was young. I have an appointment this wednesday with the Dr. but any help till then would help greatly since this worries my.

Thank You,

Peter

  • Floaters are common as we get older, they sometimes appear to be right in front of our central vision and if you try to locate it by "trying" to look at it, it appears to move, the vitreous humor inside the eye starts to come loose and float around, normally this causes no problems, just annoying. However, if you are having other symptoms, you should see a retinal specialist, sometimes the vitreous humor tears away and pulls the retina with it causing a detachment. This could lead to blindness if not treated early. I am 42 and just went through retinal surgery, it is no picnic. Take care of your eyes and be sure to follow up with your doctors. My surgery did not turn out the way I thought it should, I have other problems now. let me know how your appointment turns out.
