I woke up this morning and in my left eye on the lid in the corner (NOT THE NASAL CORNER) it was slightly swollen and I have some pain when i blink. Could this be a stye? If so, is it necessary for me to seek further medical advice?

  • Could be what is called a Chalazian(?). They are painful but if you take care of it soon you will not be in for the long haul with it. Go to the eye doc.

  • my daughter gets these quite a bit... you are only to treat it if it gives you any discomfort, to treat it you should use a CLEAN warm(as hot as you can stand) compress...(wash rag)and you should repeat this for about 15 to 20 mins a day. my mother-n-law also says to use a clean hot nickle(5 cent piece) and it does the same

  • Use caution when applying anything to the eye with heat. You can cause yourself more damage then good. Go to the doctor first and see what they tell you to do. Your eyes are the only window to the world you have take care of them.

  • Thanks for the advice. I put a warm compress on my eye and it went away within two days. The last time i had it i was given antibiotics as the itching was unbearable!! But this one went away quickly!
