Hi,

I am a 25 yrs old male and i have a squint in my left eye.
I don't know whether its a squint or not but precisely i cant turn my left eye towards right but i can turn it towards left perfectly fine whenever i try to move it towards right it moves towards up. I can see straight perfectly fine and my right eye is also perfectly finw.
It was not by birth but somewhere around the age of 8-9 it started to happen, i saw a doctor and he advised me not to worry and it will get fine by time but it didn't.
I want to know what kind of a disease it is and whether its curable or not either by medicine or surgery?? Also, please which kind of a specialist should i see?? Please advise.

Thank you & God bless You :)

From what you describe it sounds like it may be a mild nerve palsy, but that's just a number of possible diagnoses. You'll need to see an ophthalmologist, who will most likely be able to give you a diagnosis and discuss treatment options for you. It will probably be able to be surgically treated if it's thought to be necessary (if it's causing you double vision when you look to the right or you don't like the look of the eye cosmetically). It could be caused by a number of things though, some harmless and some more serious so you should definitely get checked out. Good luck.
