I was looking for a thread dealing with this but have not found one. Feel free to point me in the right direction.

I have severe dry eye, such that I wake up every hour or so to put artificial tears in. For sime reasin this works better than the ointment.

This has been going on for several years with some days that my eyes are completely bloodshot. Some days they have actual hemmorages. But all days, they are painfully dry.

Has anyone tried scleral lenses?
What all have you tried and has anything helped you?

  • If you've been told in the past that you cannot wear contact lenses because of an irregular cornea or other problems, you may want to get a second opinion and ask my eye doctor about scleral contact lenses. Scleral contacts are large-diameter gas permeable contact lenses specially designed to vault over the entire corneal surface and rest on the "white" of the the eye (sclera). In doing so, scleral lenses replace the irregular cornea with a perfectly smooth optical surface to correct vision problems caused by keratoconus and other corneal irregularities. Also, the space between the cornea and the back surface of scleral lenses acts as a fluid reservoir to provide comfort for severe dry eyes that otherwise could not tolerate contact lens wear. Scleral lenses are noticeably larger than standard gas permeable contacts and have a diameter equal to or greater than that of soft contact lenses

  • Thanks for these tips. One thing I should also believe is that credit cards giving a 0% rate often lure consumers together with zero rate of interest, instant approval and easy on the web balance transfers, but beware of the number one factor that can void the 0% easy streets annual percentage rate plus throw you out into the poor house quick.
