my brother, is an sle patient for 12 years now he is on the medication: cyclophosmide, omeprezole, predisolone. for the past few yrs. he has had some symptoms, as floters and no Dr. could not figure out what is happening to his eyes....
It has been 4 yrs now, and he has now been ? diagnosed as retinal detachment, with ? hsv to his eyes.....In my land we have no technology to diagnose hsv to the eyes, and he cannot afford to to fly to the states to seek med. help as it is to expensive to do so.
Brings me to the point of insurance.he was unable to get insurance at the age of 17 after being diagnosed with SLE.
I tried contacting Cuban hospital in havan ( cira garcia hosp. ,cimeq hospital and hermanos ameijeiras hosp. ) but the operator was unable to speak english at the cira, and the other 2, no one was answering my call . I was told venezeula, was also a good option, but i was unable to obtain any hospital in venezeula, via, the net..
My brother has now, 75 % loss of vision, and it is getting worst.
any contribution welcome/solutions is welcome . sister of a hard working brother. Trinidad and tobago.
