I'm a 35 year old female who has been coping with red veins in the whites of my eyes for 15 years. It started when I was wearing contacts (age 20) so I stopped cold, but the veins never went away. When I was about 25 I had laser vision surgery and while my veins didn't change at all, at least I didn't have to wear glasses. Now I'm 35 and my vision is regressing -- I have floaters and because of my job, I spend too much time on a computer -- and I feel my veins are increasing and even more prominent than ever.
Has ANYONE had success stories in treating the veins? My eyes are healthy otherwise and my eye doctor has said I still don't need glasses and my eyes are normal and healthy.
Could it be that our preoccupation with eye veins is a form of OCD or Body Dymorphic Disorder? Or are the veins really a condition? Eye doctors write me off as crazy if I bring up how self-concious I am with the veins (and also my eyes feel dry when I wake up -- but is it this way for everyone?) -- but I "feel" as though it is a real condition.
I know about the eye whitening surgeries in LA but I am not ready for that and am hopeful that there are other treatments, including alternative treatments like EFT and hypnosis.
I'm looking for sucess stories...please share!!!
