Hihi!
OK So
i am legally blind - found that out last spring (blah)
i have had glasses since grade 8 (30 years). I have amblyopia affecting both eyes (one turns in, the other turns out depending on what i am looking at- it's quite fun lol)
lately i have noticed that whenever i read, or use the computer i get very very sleepy. It does not matter if i have had lots of sleep or have just woken up. 15 minutes and there i go out like a light!
i do not use any sort of drugs or smoke or drink or anything like that.
any ideas of what might be causing this would be greatly appreciated!
thanks

  • =) Hello , I was legally blind as well before getting laser surgery, and I also recently discovered thanks to my fave Dr. Google that I have amblyopia as well... I lookat something and my eyes turn any crazy way... BUT to be honest I notice it happenes very often when I don;t sleep or rest adequately. I'm a night owl, so I changed my sleep routine around and I notice my amblyopia is MUCH better... and I used to be at work and start yawning from being on the comp. screen ...but I would go outside and feel fine.. so that worked for me.What my dad did was get prescriped glasses with reflective lenses... they are supposed to reflect the light so ur eyes dont get as tired, and his glass leses ahve a greeninsh glow to them... hopw it helps

It means that you are doing several things that contribute to drowsiness. Make sure that the room has proper ventilation and the lighting is good. You have to take ten minutes break every hour. And a long break is a must at morning tea time, lunch and evening tea. This helps your eyes to get relax more. During the break move your eyes from the computer and watch some greeneries. Still you feel that your eyes are becoming sore or itchy then it is sign for you to meet a optician to get your eyes checked. Taking regular breaks as mentioned above will help you to carry out your work freely.
