I got diagnosed with PVD about a month ago. I'm only 33 years old but very nearsighted. I'm not too worried about it--the condition sounds fairly benign, as long as I keep an eye out (so to speak) for worsening symptoms (Increase or change in flashes, floaters, etc.), But I had a few questions someone might be able to answer....
1.) I know that people usually stop noticing the flashes and floaters, and that this is because the brain adapts to their presence....but can the vitreous detachment heal? Can the vitreous reattatch itself to the retina?
2.) Do herbs or nutrients help? I'm taking bilberry, lutein, zeaxanthin, quercetin, etc., just in case. I figure it can't hurt.
3.) Does PVD rule you out as a candidate for lasik or a similar laser vision correction?
If anyone can answer one or more of the above questions, please let me know. Thanks.
