Started treatment with eye dr 04/06 with a watery eye. He tried Patonal, Restasis, plugged a lower tear duct. None of that worked. On my last visit he gave me an antibiotic drop and said he didn't need to see me anymore and didn't want to remove the plug or put in another one on the upper eye lid. He recommended taking Omega 3 and flaxseed oil vitamins I did and that didn't work either. What am I supposed to do now, I'm no better and seem to be getting worse.

  • I am sad to hear that you have not found anyone that could help your watery eye. I have the opposite problem. The doctor basically treated me with the very same "treatment". He put in a "plug" that was made of collagen and after a couple of weeks...that plug is designed to start to dissolve and fall out. This is supposed to block the flow of the tears in the bottom ducts and "redirect" the tears to the top of the eye..in order to flow down and across the eye. My treatment was unsuccessful as well. I still have very dry eyes and blink constantly. I'll be praying that you find relief soon...and find a Doctor that is more compassionate.

  • I had watery eyes for some time when I was about ten and the eye doctor said it was because my tear-ducts were posited wrong, probably caused by the way I weared my glasses (totally up on my nose at that time). They did a little surgery of 5 minutes, posited the tear-ducts in the right position and a few months later it was totally over.
