Losing Vision

I've been dealing with these symptoms for a long time, with no answers. I even recently went to the Mayo clinic, but again no answers. Let me preface this by saying I have 20/15 vision in my left eye, and 20/20 in my right. So how can anything be wrong? When I look at anything, whether it's a field, a wall, a ballgame - I cannot see what I should be able to see. It's like I'm tunnel visioned, but even what I can see seems like it's so far away. It's hard to explain, but my visual perception is way off. Nothing is blurry - I have a TON of flashers and floaters. Despite passing numerous field visual tests, my peripheral vision seems to worsen every 6 months or so - it's like my vision is slowly closing in and getting narrower every so often. I get migraines with no rhyme or reason. Everything seems very surreal, and I'm very unaware of my surroundings because of this. It's getting to the point where I think I shouldn't drive - but EVERYTHING comes back normal when tested. It's a constant irritation - I look forward to sleep because I don't notice it then. It is much worse when looking sideways; when in a car, I cannot focus on anything when i look out the window while moving. When running or jogging, everything looks so jostled I can barely see straight. My vision was never like this a few years ago - my concern is that it seems to be slowly getting worse. It's hard to be happy, even though I have the perfect girlfriend. If anybody can understand what I'm trying to describe, I would greatly appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

  • Have you had an MRI? Have you had a spinal tap to measure your intracranial pressure? Research a condition called "Benign intracranial hypertension" and/or "Psuedo Tumor Cerebri".

  • Have you had an MRI? Have you had a spinal tap to measure your intracranial pressure? Research a condition called "Benign intracranial hypertension" and/or "Psuedo Tumor Cerebri". I have had a few MRIs, all normal. I have not had a spinal tap.

  • I mentioned PseudoTumor to the doctor, and he said I don't have it. My next step is vision therapy - not sure what that is, but I apparently have Convergence Insufficiency, so I'm hoping this is the answer. I have a hard time accepting that my vision will be like this forever.
