This is how it all started.... I was 16 woke up from a short nap , opened my eyes and coul dsee nothing but blurry white but with a horrible headache... I didn't really think anything of it...I am now 22 and about 6 months ago I started seeing flashes (lightning bolts) in my eyes. This was not very often. About a month after I was driving and again I started seeing these lightning bolts but this time I lost all of my peripheral vision on both side...it was so bad that I needed to pull over. This time it was very wierd. I decided that it was time to got to the docter...he sent me to the eye docter to do te works and everything was fine...no tears, the retna was fine... the doctor said my eyes were perfect. Since ten it has gotton 5 times worse...Not only do I see the lightning bolts but when i close my eyes or blink at times I will see a very large flash over my whole eye for 1 second max. I have also started to see dark circles that start out to be about the size of a fifty cent piece that flash around the whole parimeter that get to the size of a child size basketball. The circle looks like it is maybe a foot away. They flash very bright and take over my vision. Someone told me to get an MRI. I am very worried because it has gotton so bad and my doctor said that there was nothing wrong but he never did any further testing. Does anyone know what is going on???!!

  • I actually did go to an opthamologist. My Doctor had referred me to him after our visit. I should have been more specific when I said "eye doctor"

  • Consider optic neuritis from an infection. This symptom is commom with borelliosis or lyme disease.
