  • First of all stay away from your computer until you have been checked out by an eye doctor. You only have one set of eyes and you do NOT want to lose your eyesight. This might not be computer related, but using your computer now can cause extra strain on your eyes. Get an appointment with a specialist ASAP. Kiera

Take 5 mins to an hour (depending on what your looking at, if it's video games it's probably better you stick to 1/2 hr or more) for every hour you play. Your eyes are so locked into playing the game, they don't blink as much as they should, and they don't dilate or retract like they should when you are playing. It's extremely dangerous to play ANY game, be it computer or hand held controller type game, for such a length of time. It can be detrimental to your eyesight. I would recommend you see an opthamologist (not optometrist) as soon as possible. You should discontinue all video/computer games until you've had a chance to sit down and speak with them.

  • Do you know that blinking is a kind of eye exercise? I am almost 90% of the day in front of my pc because of my work...but then, i take at least 5mins break hour after hour just to relax my eyes...I look at the bonsai plant in front of me... Here's a useful tip if you cant stay away from the pc:1. put GREEN plants beside your pc...(i suggest a cactus: why? because aside from the fact that it absorbs radiation, it also helps the eye relax).2. look at the plant at least 2x every hour or every 30mins...3. blink as often as you can (this should be involuntary blinking aside from the natural blinks that we do)4. change plant every week...green color relaxes the eyes... also visitr the nearest MD as soon as you can...better safe than sorry ;)
