Monday I noticed a bit of swelling under my left lower eyelid, just below the area where some of us get "dark circles". Tuesday the swelling was worse, it spread out some, but is still under that "dark circle" area. I went to my doctor, and he seems to think it could either be a sinus infection, or possibly some sort of irritation from painting my living room, I told him the paint DID sting my eyes when I was painting, but not to a great degree. I admit I am hypochondriacal, I always think the worst, but this really has me unnerved, looking in the mirror and seeing this swelling. The doctor gave me a prescription for an antibiotic, but he really can't say for sure it's sinuses. I'm on an "if it gets worse, call me" thing, and being a hypochondriac to begin with, this has me a wreck. I keep looking in the mirror for signs it's getting better or worse (thankfully, it doesn't seem to be getting worse, but it doesn't seem better either). It's 3:30 AM right now, and I'm here posting this because I'm falling apart, and I have no one to talk to. I'm shaking, I'm chilly, yet my hands and feet are clammy... classic panic attack. I've done some research on swelling, and no matter what it is, it doesn't sound serious, but I need it to go away, I can't relax looking in the mirror and seeing this swelling. He said there could be numerous causes, something as simple as an insect bite to sinusitis, to some sort of allergic reaction. Oddly enough, I did find something about "anthurium poisoning", and I DO have an anthurium, which frankly, I don't recall if I was handling or not. Can anyone offer something to help me calm down? I can't sleep, I'm a nervous wreck.
