hi im very worried i had problems with my eyes for the last few months,im 19 and i have worn contacts for 9 years and recently they became red and inflamed around the iris. docs said it was viral conjuntivitis, but now they say its viral ketasosis soemhting liek that and i must wear my glasses, they say they can see somehting in my cornea and im not gettin much sense from them.
anyone had similar or not?

  • see opthamologist - do you have roseacea? There's a condition called ocular roseacea. have it. sounds similar. once reason for roseacea flare up is removed, may be able to go back to contacts. mine was stress related

  • Keratitis is an inflammation of the cornea. In many cases it can be serious so it is best that you AVOID contact lenses for a long while.I was told i had keratitis too so i ditched lenses for a while but luckily i had noticed the eye irritation straight away so it didnt get worse. What kind of lenses are you using? I find that silicone hydrogels are much more kinder to the eye but u must remember to REDUCE your wear time in contact lenses so your eyes get a bit of a break!! Glasses aren't all that bad!
