A week and a half ago I accidentally fell asleep with my contact lenses in, and woke up with my eye red and irritated. After a day the pain worsened to the point that I couldn't do my job, so I went to the eye doctor and she said I had an infection and prescribed Tobradex eye drops. So for the next few days I used the eye drops and wore an eye patch over my eye. ((The doctor didn't require me to wear an eye patch, but I got terrible headaches since I couldn't wear a contact lens in the affected eye, and the doctor said it was okay to wear a patch.))
Well, the infection cleared up and the doctor said I could stop using the drops, but I noticed that my eye won't open all the way now. It's been four days with no change. It's not affecting my vision, but it looks weird and it's creeping me out. Sometimes it hurts a little. I'm going back to the eye doctor tomorrow, but I'm wondering what I should expect and what questions to ask.
Is this normal? Would it be caused by the original infection, wearing an eye patch, or as a side effect of the eye drops? Will it ever go away? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :-)
