My problems started back in September. It started as welts around my eyes at my brow line. Then I woke up one morning and my left eye was completley swollen shut. I went to the Dr. and was told that i must have been bitten by an insect and the itching caused an infection. I took the one week of antibiotics and it went down. Approximatly 3 weeks later the same thing happened all over again only I had swelling to my lower jaw as well. Back to the dr. and was told that I had a chalazion (eye cyst) and the swelling in my jaw was from my lymph nodes. Was put on 2 more weeks of antibiotics. A week later, the left eye had decreased but the right was now starting to get extremely itchy, blood shot and swelling. Dr. now says that its allergies in this eye and presribes eye drops. I continue taking the rest of the antibiotics and using the eye drops. The problems go away for about a week. The swelling then comes back a third time only in the right eye but is now accompanied by a large welt type spot on the right side of my forehead. Back to the dr. and he says that it looks like poison Ivy??? Prescribs hydrocortisone cream... I have been symptom free for about 3 weeks and tonight a large welt pops up on my forehead again! I am at wits end!!! I have also been to the opthomologist who looked me straight in the face and said... I have no idea what it is! the pictures of periorbital cellulitis look identical to the swelling I have but as a nurse I know this just not go and come back without treatment. Any Ideas would be great!!Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
