Eye sore

Hi. My left eye has been hurting for half a day. It's not from the lid or pupil, but from the corner white part of the eye itself. I don't see anything visibly wrong with it(no bumps). It's not an irritation but more of a numb kind of pain. It's slightly red but no more than usual and the other eye. It hurts when touched or when my lids are shut tight. I'm really worried.

I wear glasses regularly; in fact, I use this eye better than my right lasy eye. I'm not sure if it's from straining or lack of sleep. I don't have any health insurance, so I can't see a doctor. Will, perhaps, a warm wet rag help with the problem? Any advice, I would deeply appreciate it. Thank you.

  • Update: I've noticed now that the numb pain seems to be coming from the far corner of my eye. I've also noticed that my eyelid feels "different" right where it hurts. As if it's softer or something. And there have been several flakes building up on that corner as well.A little more info. I have been getting minimal sleep as of late, partly from starting work early morning. I am also often of a night owl, as I stay up lat sometimes watching television. And sometimes I actually watch TV in the dark without sufficient light, but not as much this past month. I am also 23 and have been trying to find a full-time job in order to receive suitable insurance. Til then, I can't see a doctor, so I have a problem.I'm hoping that a warm rag will help me. Any suggestions, I would deeply appreciate it. Please.

  • Update: I'm pretty sure it's just a stye. I can see the lid is swelled up now, and I can vaguely remember having it around last year. I hope that is clears up soon though.
