I am 25 yrs old and have my both eyes with discharge problem and having this for last 4 years. I thought that this problem will go off as time goes as suggested by Eye specialists but no use. When I wake up in the morning part of my eyes are covered with discharge and I need to wash by water. If I touch by my hands it irritation feeling and tears started coming down on both the eyes. I can live with that if it does not create any problem in the eye vision but slowly my sight is getting poor day by day. Is it due to Allergy? I took lot of medicines suggested by various doctors but for the time being something stops that day only and I need to do it all the days. But when prolong taking of those eye drops cause my eye vision getting blurred. So I stopped taking that drops but this discharge problem has not been solved. previously I was using Pyrimon eye drops, and while using that I feel better and no doscharge at all while I wake up. But one of my doctor told not to use that since it has Steroids and my vision also getting blurred so I stopped. She suggested another eye drops but that does not solve discharge problem and prolonged use of it makes vision bad. Then I thought that living with that without any medicine would be better and thats what I am continuing for these many years. But not taking care of this eye problem causes slowly improves eye sight problem. Is there a solution at all for me? I hope this problem would not be with anyone else and NONe should have this. PLS HELP.

Thanks,
Manikandan V

  • The very first thing I would try- throw away the pillow you sleep on and buy a new one and cover it with a new pillow case thats been washed in hypoallergenic detergent. Buy a pillow thats NOT filled with down or feathers. Even if this does solve the problem, I would go see a allergy specialist to rule out allergies or find out what I was allergic to. My son had a problem with constant inflammed eyes and the first thing the allergy specialist had us do was the pillow trick and it worked.

  • your eyes self-cleanses, so the white discharge isn't a problem unless the color is yellow, because yellow is often a sign of infection. if your discharge is accompanied by pain, blurred vision, redness, etc, then get a professional to check it out. I get the discharge when I wake up in the morning and I don't wear any eye makeup. try to avoid rubbing your eyes or touching them with your hands, because maybe some mild bacteria/dust got into your eyes, so your eyes are naturally washing it out via eye discharge.
