We recently noticed that in all of our 2 1/2 year old daughters' photos, her left eye always shows the "red eye" effect. It has also started "wandering" inward. A friend told us they heard about another child exhibiting this and they turned out to have Cancer in that eye. It had already progressed to the childs brain by the time it was diagnosed. Has anyone ever heard of this or know of possible causes. We do have a Doctor appointment next week, but in our rural area, I'm not confident about the knowledge base. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • I don't know about the red eye in photo's but a wandering eye can be a symptom of a tumor indide the eye, however dont panic because that is a much less likely cause, you must go get it checked by a doctor and or optician which I'm supposing you have done by now and the lielyhood is that it is strabismus which at her age is fixable as long as she gets appropreate treatment. I say this because I had strabismus and was taken to the doctors and the eye hospital when I was 3 (an age where it can be corrected) and my mum was told there was nothing wrong. now I'm 20, I have severe double vision and I'm struggling with my course due to my visual impairment, I'll also need surgery to reallign the muscles... so please get it sorted now. It isnt the worst problem in the world but I would hate for daughter to have to put up with this. dont panic about the cancer though that really is less likely cause of a wandering eye.
