Can anyone help? For the better part of the past 11 years I have had a chronic eye condition that occurs in both eyes, but sometimes just one. The symptoms vary to from mild to severe itching, burning, sometimes sharp pain that feels deep, no discharge, don't look particularly red. Symptoms occur several times a week, lasting hours or days. Relief from sleeping, but may start up again shortly after rising and often make functioning very difficult, especially driving.
I have noticed a definite trigger when something stressful occurs, and it only needs to be minor and within minutes my eyes start to hurt. I have bad tear function, but drops are utterly worthless, no relief whatsoever.
