Thank you for taking interest in my post. Hopefully, I won't take too much of your time.
I've looked everywhere but I can't seem to find anything remotely similar to what happened to me.
It all started with me failing my DMV eye test(to get my learner's permit, I've waited years for it!).
I looked through, and saw the numbered line, and beside it, the two white boxes(rectangle shaped) with letters in them. I was seeing double of the row number and I couldn't make out the letters, so I thought, "No problem, I'll just wear my glasses." It's a low prescription I got, years back, but never use. So, I tried them on and I could make out the letters with a little squinting. I wrote the letters down and took them to the lady to check. She looked at the paper, nodded, and promptly told me to write down the third box too. Me, feeling confused, went back to the contraption thinking that maybe I had somehow "missed" it. I stuck my head up in it trying to find the third box, but I couldn't find it. It just LITERALLY wasn't there. Via someone's advice, I tried different eye at a time. When I closed my right eye(I think it was my right eye, I can't remember) the screen centered out and I was no longer seeing double of the row number, but there was still no third box.
If this helps at all...
The prescription glasses I had are marked for a astigmatism.
I went to the eye doctor and he said I have 20/20 -1 in my left eye, and 20/40 in my right.
I forgot to ask him about not seeing the third box, and now I'm really worried. I've never noticed this problem before. What if I'm driving and miss something. And I never know it???
Has anyone else experienced this?
Again, I thank you for your time! Any help is much appreciated!
